Parent & Student Code of Conduct

It is in the best interest of Long Island Youth Ballet and our students to understand proper studio etiquette. Long Island Youth Ballet has furnished guidelines for both students and parents to read and agree.

  1. Students are expected to arrive at class 5 minutes before class to have adequate time to prepare.

  2. Saturday's class time is mandatory for performance participation.

  3. Students must be in proper uniform and ballet dance attire as well as hair up in a neat bun, before arriving. This is for all ages, to instill good habits.

  4. Long Island Youth Ballet will always be available to discuss your concerns. Please contact the director by phone or email to set up an appointment. We cannot take class time to have a discussion.

  5. If a student is having any concerns, please see the director or teacher immediately. Do not let it escalate or confront another student or parent. Students must show respect for each other.

  6. Individuals grow at their own pace therefore classes are composed of different strengths. Our program is designed to encourage children to aspire to the next level and or become a role model.

  7. In order to maintain a healthy and peaceful environment at Long Island Youth Ballet. We ask that all parents and or caregivers of intermediate and advanced students refrain from sitting in the waiting area during classes or rehearsals to ensure that all students progress without feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

** Please have confidence in our executive decisions regarding your child’s placement.

Long Island Youth Ballet will always strive to sustain a nurturing environment. We will teach and provide our students with the tools to become proud dancers of Long Island Ballet.
